Flavorly FAQ

Do I have to microwave the meals?

No! Instead of microwaving, you can remove the meals from their packaging and heat them on the stove, or in an oven-safe container. You can also boil a large pot of water, remove the meal label, and put the entire vacuum-sealed meal in the water for a couple minutes to heat. Use tongs to remove the meal, and always remember to watch for steam!

See the “How long does it take to enjoy Flavorly meals?” question for more detailed heating options.

How long does it take to enjoy Flavorly meals?

Heat Flavorly prepared meals in the microwave for 3-3.5 minutes (watch the packaging vent if you want, its pretty neat), let cool for 1 minute (we know it’s hard to wait), and enjoy! Watch out for steam when removing from the microwave.

You can also use the defrost cycle in the microwave and then heat your meal 2-2.5 minutes. Allow the meal to cool in the microwave for at least one minute and watch for steam!

Many microwaves have a “frozen meal” option that work well for Flavorly meals. Allow the meal to cool in the microwave for at least one minute and watch for steam!

You can also boil water in a pot large enough to fit one meal package and let the packaging (with the vacuum-seal still intact) sit in the water for around 5 minutes. Use tongs to remove the meal and let cool for at least one minute.

How are my meals delivered?

The meals are frozen immediately after cooking to ensure freshness. Orders are packed with dry ice in a compostable, insulated liner to ensure they arrive frozen.  Be sure to freeze or refrigerate as soon as you open the box.

Does FLAVORLY ship to a Post Office Box?

Unfortunately we do not ship to a PO Box.

How long are my meals in transit?

We have worked with our delivery partners to make sure your order arrives to your door in 1 to 2 days, depending on which state you ship to. We’ve tested our packaging to keep meals frozen up to 60 hours – 48 for shipping and 12 hours at your doorstep.

Do I have to subscribe to a meal plan? Is there a minimum $ purchase required to order?

We prepared meals without a subscription.

There is a minimum purchase of 5 meals per order. Why? because sending fewer than 5 meals is not sustainable or environmentally friendly.

If I'm not at home when my meals arrive, will they go bad?

Recycling Flavorly meal delivery packages

Can the Flavorly delivery packaging be recycled? We get questions like this a lot, so we’ve got the answers below:

The cardboard delivery box itself is recyclable, and the liner contents are made of recycled water bottles, also recyclable.

The Flavorly sleeves, labels, and meal trays are recyclable as well and are BPA-free.

We’ve made an effort to be ecologically responsible from the get-go, and are always looking for ways to do things better.

Thanks for doing your part!
